Two Arrested in Major Drug Bust in Columbia

On October 30, 2024, a joint drug investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia Police Department led to the arrest of two individuals at a residence located at 15 Williamsburg Road in Columbia. The operation, prompted by ongoing investigations, resulted in the execution of a search warrant, during which investigators seized various illegal substances and items, including liquid and solid forms of methamphetamine, prescription medications, marijuana, drug packaging materials, scales, firearms, and drug paraphernalia.

Amy Nicole Carroll, 38, was charged with felony child endangerment, armed trafficking, possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, and two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Covey Allen Blansett, 35, faces a more extensive list of charges, including felony child endangerment, armed trafficking, possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, sale or transfer of a controlled substance, two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, four counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and multiple warrants for contempt and failure to appear.

Both Carroll and Blansett are currently being held at the Marion County Jail and are awaiting bond hearings as their cases progress through the legal system.
