Two Arrested in Kathmandu for Scamming Job Seekers to the U.S.

KATHMANDU — Two men, Kul Bahadur Thapa, 43, and Rajan Ale, 31, were arrested for scamming individuals by promising them job placements in the United States. The suspects, originally from Gorkha, were apprehended on Tuesday in Sinamangal by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Thapa and Ale reportedly took a total of Rs 5.9 million from their victims, convincing them they would secure jobs in the U.S. However, after collecting the money, the suspects disappeared. When the victims realized they had been defrauded, they reported the incident to the authorities.

Both suspects were arrested and have been transferred to the District Police Office for further investigation. The authorities are continuing to look into the scam to determine the full extent of the fraud.
