Two Arrested in Iowa Bank Robbery, Daniel Mathes and Lisa Haire Charged

West Des Moines, IA – Police have made two arrests in connection with a robbery at an Iowa bank on Wednesday afternoon. The West Des Moines Police Department responded to the Freedom Financial Bank located at 1255 Jordan Creek Parkway just before 4:00 p.m. after receiving a call about a robbery in progress.

Following the incident, police gathered information about the suspect and vehicle involved in the crime. This information was quickly shared with other law enforcement agencies, leading the Iowa State Patrol to stop the suspect’s vehicle a short time later on I-80, just west of Anita, Iowa. The traffic stop was made without incident.

At the scene, officers arrested two individuals, Daniel Mathes and Lisa Haire, both from Georgia. Mathes has been charged with second-degree robbery and first-degree theft, while Haire faces charges of aiding and abetting second-degree robbery and aiding and abetting first-degree theft. Both suspects are currently being held at the Dallas County Jail.

The swift response by local and state law enforcement agencies helped apprehend the suspects and bring them into custody. Investigations into the robbery continue as authorities work to gather more details.
