Two Arrested in Ernakulam for Stealing 70 Sovereigns of Gold and Cash

Ernakulam North police arrested two individuals, Mohidul Islam (27) and Babu Sohara (28) from Assam, in connection with the alleged theft of 70 sovereigns of gold ornaments, ₹10,000, and important documents from a locked house on Desabhimani Road in Kaloor.

The suspects were apprehended on Sunday, January 26, from a deserted building near the second platform of the North railway station. Upon arrest, police recovered around seven sovereigns of gold and ₹13,000 from their possession.

Police have initiated further investigations into the theft, with both suspects currently in custody. The stolen gold and cash are being traced to the locked house in Kaloor, where the robbery occurred.
