Macon Herron, of Southaven, MS, and Manuel Donis, also of Southaven, were arrested in DeSoto County, Mississippi, after being accused of stealing over $2 million worth of merchandise from cargo containers. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) conducted the investigation, which involved assistance from the Union Pacific Railroad Police and a SWAT team.
Herron, 28, was charged with two counts of felony receiving stolen property and prohibited possession of a machine gun conversion device. He has a previous record for similar crimes. Donis, 33, was arrested on an active warrant out of Crittenden County, Arkansas.
On February 22, detectives and law enforcement executed search warrants at two locations in Southaven. Authorities recovered stolen items including $30,000 worth of Milwaukee tools, a stolen Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a Can-Am Renegade ATV, and a Glock pistol equipped with a machine gun conversion device — commonly referred to as a Glock switch.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office indicated that additional charges and arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.
