Two Arrested in BKC for Possession of 27 Grams of Mephedrone

In a significant drug bust, the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Police arrested two individuals on December 27 for possessing 27 grams of MD (Mephedrone), valued at around Rs. 2.70 lakh.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Riyaz Shah, 49, a developer residing in Kanakia Palace society in Bandra East, and Hasan Ali Mansuri, 50, an employee of a private company residing in Kurla West.

The police action took place during a routine patrol along the BKC-Kherwadi road near Valmiki Nagar on December 25, when they spotted two individuals on a motorcycle acting suspiciously. Upon stopping them for inspection, the police did not initially find anything incriminating on their persons. However, a further search of Hasan Ali Mansuri’s motorcycle revealed a white envelope, a weighing scale, and a bag containing a white powder, which Mansuri admitted was MD (Mephedrone) meant for personal consumption.

Following the discovery, the police registered a case under Sections 21(b) and 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, leading to the arrest of both suspects.

The two were remanded to police custody until December 30, and the investigation is ongoing. The police are working to determine the full extent of the duo’s involvement in the drug trade.
