Two Arrested for Vehicle Theft in Nagpur; 5 Stolen Bikes Recovered

In a breakthrough operation, the Mankapur Police in Nagpur arrested two individuals on August 7, 2024, in connection with the theft of a motorcycle. The incident took place on the night of August 6, when Naved Ahmed, a 20-year-old resident, discovered his Splendor motorcycle (MH 31 FT 4283) had been stolen from outside his home in New Mankapur.

The police quickly acted on reliable information, setting up a trap near Jama Masjid, Mominpura, Nagpur. Their efforts led to the arrest of two suspects: Om alias Ravi Narendra Yede (19) and Aman Santosh Kalimati (23). During questioning, the suspects confessed to the theft of Naved Ahmed’s motorcycle, as well as their involvement in at least three other vehicle thefts across the Nandanvan, Koradi, and Hudkeshwar areas.

The police recovered five stolen vehicles from the suspects, including two Splendor bikes, a KTM bike, and a Honda Dio, all valued at approximately Rs2.95 lakh. The successful operation highlights the effectiveness of coordinated efforts by police personnel, with support from technical assistants, to address vehicle thefts in the region.

The investigation into the stolen vehicles is ongoing, and authorities are working to identify any additional suspects involved in the thefts. The suspects will be charged under relevant sections of the law, and further legal proceedings will follow.
