Two Arrested for Theft in Bhakti Nagar, Police Recover Goods

The Bhakti Nagar police have arrested two individuals involved in a daring theft in which they cut open the tin roof of a shop to gain access. The arrested criminals, identified as Roshan Barman and Haren Das, were caught after a police investigation and raid. Stolen goods worth approximately Rs70,000 were recovered from their possession.

The theft took place on Sunday when the culprits used sharp tools to cut through the tin sheet of a shop in the Eastern Bypass area. After the shop owner reported the incident, the Bhakti Nagar police initiated a probe into the matter.

With the help of a tip-off, the police conducted a raid and arrested the two men, recovering the stolen items, which were valued at Rs70,000. Authorities confirmed that Roshan Barman was the primary offender in the crime.

Both Barman and Das were presented before the Jalpaiguri Court on Tuesday following their arrests. The police are continuing their investigation to determine if the duo was involved in any other criminal activities in the region.
