The Thane Police on Saturday announced the arrest of two individuals, Sunil Ninwa Patil (56) and Ramanand Chhotelal Yadav (46), in connection with the theft of gold biscuits worth Rs25 lakh.
The incident occurred on November 26 when the victim, a resident of Nalasopara (East), was carrying 375.18 grams of gold biscuits in his bag. While on his way to Bhayandar railway station, the victim was targeted by the duo, who snatched his bag and fled in an autorickshaw.
The police team investigated the crime by reviewing CCTV footage from the area and tracking the suspects through mobile data analysis. This led to the successful arrest of the suspects from Bhadgaon in Jalgaon district and Thane. Upon their arrest, the police recovered gold biscuits worth Rs20.1 lakh from the accused.
The authorities are continuing their investigation, and more details may emerge as the case progresses.
