Two assailants have been arrested for the murder of Rohit Tirkey on October 12. The accused, Mantosh Kumar (25) and Ayush Raj (24), were apprehended by the Kotwali DSP Prakash Soy from Piska More. Both men are residents of the area.
The incident took place near New Market Chowk under the Kotwali police station limits, where an argument escalated between Tirkey (22) and the assailants. The altercation led to Tirkey being assaulted, and he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
Police have confirmed that they are conducting raids to apprehend three additional suspects involved in the crime. Further investigation into the motive and circumstances is ongoing.
