LAUDERDALE COUNTY, MS – A drug bust in Lauderdale County on Friday resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of a juvenile who had been reported missing. The bust, conducted by the East Mississippi Drug Task Force, took place on November 8th, just before noon, when agents attempted to serve a warrant for Charlene Evans at a residence located in the 500 block of 56th Avenue.

Upon obtaining a search warrant for the home, authorities discovered that an unnamed male juvenile—who had been reported missing—was inside the residence. The juvenile was immediately turned over to detectives with the Meridian Police Department.

In addition to the discovery of the missing child, LaShawn Boyd, who had multiple outstanding warrants with the Meridian Police Department, was found at the location and taken into custody alongside the police officers from Meridian.

Charges for Charlene Evans:

Charlene Evans was arrested and charged with possession of hydrocodone with intent to distribute and two counts of trafficking a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a church. She was given a total bond of $140,000.
The drug bust is part of ongoing efforts by the East Mississippi Drug Task Force to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in the region. Further investigation is expected to follow as authorities continue to work on the case.
