Two Arrested After Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Drugs and Firearm in New Bern

Ronnell Elder Neil Whitehead, 43, and Brianna Renae Harris, 29, both of New Bern, were arrested following a traffic stop on Broad Creek Road on January 21.

During the stop, K9 Viper alerted authorities to narcotics in the vehicle, leading to the discovery of .5 grams of fentanyl, 1.7 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and over $2,500 in cash.

A search warrant was later executed at Whitehead’s residence, resulting in the seizure of 5.7 grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

Whitehead faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and firearm charges, while Harris is charged with conspiracy to sell heroin and cocaine. Both individuals are being held at the Craven County Detention Center without bond.
