Prince Frederick, MD – On January 15, 2025, a significant drug bust led to the arrest of two individuals, Thomas Wilson Brown, 59, of Sunderland, and Andrew Leon Scott, 51, of Owings. The arrests came after detectives from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) executed search and seizure warrants as part of an ongoing investigation.
The first warrant was executed during a traffic stop on Rt. 4 near Auto Drive in Prince Frederick. Brown, the driver of the vehicle, was found to be in possession of $2,130 in cash, while Scott, the passenger, had a metal smoking device commonly used for crack cocaine. Both men were detained at the scene.
Following the traffic stop, detectives carried out a second search warrant at a residence located in the 6700 block of N Solomons Island Road in Sunderland. The search uncovered a variety of illegal substances, including:
45.2 grams of a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, packaged in multiple baggies.
17.6 grams of a white rock-like substance suspected to be crack cocaine, stored in prescription pill bottles.
18 pills of suspected oxycodone.
26 pills of suspected acetaminophen with codeine.
Both Brown and Scott were arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. Brown faces charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics, Possession of CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances) Not Cannabis, and Possession of Paraphernalia. Scott is charged with Possession of CDS Not Cannabis and Possession of Paraphernalia.
The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be forthcoming.
