Tunisian Woman Accused of Stealing $4,200 & $800K Cryptocurrency

MIAMI – Maissa Jebali, a 22-year-old Tunisian woman, is facing serious charges after allegedly stealing her ex-boyfriend’s American Express card and using it for a $4,200 Airbnb stay. Miami police are also investigating her for involvement in the theft of $800,000 worth of cryptocurrency from her ex’s wallet.

According to Anthony Bravo, 26, he woke up on February 9 to find that Jebali had left their yacht and was no longer around. After checking his cryptocurrency wallet, Bravo discovered that $800,000 worth of “Trump coin” had been transferred to an unfamiliar wallet. He also noticed that his American Express card had been used multiple times in Miami-Dade County.

Bravo hired private investigator David Bolton, who tracked Jebali to the Yotel in downtown Miami on Valentine’s Day. Police later arrived at the hotel and found Jebali at the bar, where she was questioned about the theft. When confronted, Jebali allegedly told detectives, “That loser is my ex-boyfriend. He lets me use his credit card.”

Despite Jebali’s comments, Bravo expressed the pain of being victimized by someone he once loved. “I loved her with all my heart. I did everything I could to be there for her,” Bravo told reporters.

Though Jebali has yet to be charged for the cryptocurrency theft, police continue to investigate. The stolen coins were traced to an address connected to Jebali. Meanwhile, she is currently in custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), raising concerns that she may be deported before the investigation is complete.

Bolton voiced worries about Jebali’s deportation, stating, “The concern is that we are giving her a free ticket from the U.S. government back to Tunisia with $850,000 in her pocket.” Both Bravo and Bolton believe this may have been a carefully planned scam by someone targeting Bravo’s wealth.

Jebali faces felony charges for grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. The investigation into the crypto theft is ongoing.
