REMERTON, Georgia – Tsion Clayton, 23, and Kimone Green, 21, both from Lowndes County, Georgia, have been arrested and charged with Malice Murder in connection with the death of Brianna Long on October 29, 2023. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) made the announcement as the case continues to unfold.
The Remerton Police Department had initially requested the GBI’s involvement in the early hours of October 29, after Brianna Long was fatally shot while working at The Pier Bar, and another employee was injured. The victim later recovered from the assault. The Valdosta Police Department Crime Scene Unit assisted with processing the scene that same morning.
The GBI and Remerton Police worked diligently over the months to identify and charge Clayton and Green. Both suspects are currently in custody, though they are being held for unrelated charges in Georgia and Florida, respectively. Investigators believe that on the night of the shooting, both men were in Remerton seeking another individual tied to an ongoing gang dispute.
Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. In an effort to gather more information, the GBI has announced a $25,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
The GBI is also seeking information about three unidentified men who were last seen in the Baytree Place shopping plaza in Remerton on October 29, 2023. These men are wanted for questioning regarding Brianna Long’s death.
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090 or submit anonymous tips online at the GBI website or via the See Something, Send Something mobile app.
Once the investigation is complete, the case will be handed over to the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
