On March 21, Tripura police conducted a successful operation, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including a prominent drug kingpin from Assam. The operation resulted in the seizure of Yaba tablets valued at Rs5.5 crore in Agartala.
West District Superintendent of Police, Kiran Kumar, revealed that the operation was initiated after receiving secret information about an ongoing narcotics transaction. A special team was formed, and a raid was carried out at Hotel Woodland Park in Agartala, where the drug deal was in progress.
During the raid, the police arrested Sahidul Hossen Taluka, a known drug kingpin from Silchar, Assam, along with Nayan Mani Namasudra and Biswajit Biswas, both from Tripura. The police confiscated 11 packets containing a total of 1,10,000 Yaba tablets. These drugs, worth an estimated Rs5.5 crore, were seized, marking a significant success in the fight against narcotics trafficking.
The investigation into the network responsible for distributing the drugs continues, and the authorities are expected to take further action to dismantle the operation.
