Trio of Chain Snatchers from Amritsar Arrested in Jaipur

The Jaipur police’s crime branch arrested three gang members from Amritsar on Monday for their involvement in chain-snatching crimes. The accused, identified as Vikramjeet Singh (40), Simranjeet Singh (37), and Gurupreet Singh (37), were apprehended in Amritsar.

During their interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing a scooter in Amritsar’s Civil Lines area. They used the stolen scooter to travel to Jaipur in order to commit the crimes, while Simranjeet took a bus to the city. This method was adopted to avoid toll plazas and reduce suspicion during their journey.

The gang admitted to carrying out two chain-snatching incidents and one vehicle theft in Jaipur’s Shyam Nagar area and other localities. They also claimed to have committed similar offenses in Amritsar. Police revealed that all three suspects were drug addicts who turned to crime to fund their drug habits.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to uncover any additional crimes committed by the gang.
