In a major breakthrough, the police have solved three vehicle theft cases with the arrest of three individuals—Ashok Kumar, alias Nikhil, Vishal, alias Chil, and Bhagwan Giri. The arrests followed a series of thefts reported earlier this year.
One of the theft cases involved the bike of Rampal Saini, which was stolen from the Sector 41 market parking lot on January 23. Ashok Kumar (19) from Badheri village, Sector 41, was apprehended in Sector 11 while in possession of the stolen bike on Monday.
In another case, Vishal (28) was arrested near the Rally Ground, Sector 25, with a stolen scooty. The scooty owner, Uttam Samanta from Burail, Sector 45, had filed a complaint with the police back in 2023. Authorities revealed that the suspects used a master key to steal the vehicles, and similar reports of theft had been received earlier from residents of Sector 52.
The police confirmed that they are continuing their investigation into the gang’s operations and have recovered all stolen vehicles. Further legal actions are expected against the arrested individuals.
