Trio Arrested in Udupi for Seizing Drugs Worth Rs9 Lakh

In a significant drug bust, Kavoor Police and the Anti-Drugs Squad successfully raided the Kulur river bank area, seizing a large cache of illicit drugs worth approximately Rs9 lakh. The operation was reportedly linked to preparations for New Year celebrations.

Three men, identified as Devaraj (37), Parvez Umar (25), and Sheikh Tahim (20), all residents of Udupi and nearby regions, were arrested during the raid. The drugs recovered from their possession included a variety of substances: 5 kg of ganja, 100 grams of MDMA, 7 grams of cocaine, 35 MDMA pills weighing 17 grams, 100 grams of charas, 8 grams of high-grade ganja, and 3 LSD strips.

Additionally, law enforcement seized a Hyundai i10 car, an unregistered scooter, a knife, and weighing scales, tools typically used in the drug trade. Authorities suspect the arrested individuals may be repeat offenders involved in a larger drug distribution network.

The police investigation is ongoing, and further arrests may follow as authorities continue to track down other members of the drug syndicate. The seizure is expected to significantly disrupt the supply of illicit substances in the region, especially ahead of the holiday season.
