Trea’land Ty’rell Castille Arrested for Mardi Gras Concert Shooting

CONROE, Texas – A 19-year-old suspect in a deadly Mardi Gras concert shooting in Mamou has been arrested in Texas, authorities confirmed.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Trea’land Ty’rell Castille on Saturday at an apartment complex in Conroe, a suburb of Houston. Castille was wanted in connection with a shooting spree that killed two people and injured fourteen others during a Mardi Gras celebration.

He faces two counts of first-degree murder, ten counts of attempted second-degree murder, and five counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Officials stated that Castille had been hiding out in Conroe before his capture and is now awaiting extradition from the Montgomery County Jail back to Louisiana.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
