Traffic Stop in Cameron Leads to Drug Arrest

CAMERON, N.C. – Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced on Wednesday that detectives seized narcotics during a traffic stop in Cameron on July 30, 2024.

According to Fields, detectives stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of McNeill Street after discovering that the driver had a revoked license. The subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Brian Douglas Jr., a 30-year-old resident of Cameron, was arrested and faces several charges, including felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a revoked license.

Douglas has been given a secured bond of $15,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on August 22. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
