Topeka Man Jesus Alvarado Arrested for Walgreens Shoplifting

TOPEKA, KS – A 29-year-old Topeka man, Jesus Alvarado, was arrested Monday morning after allegedly shoplifting from a Walgreens and fleeing police on foot.

Incident Details
The theft was reported around 8:30 a.m. at the Walgreens located at 1001 S.W. Topeka Blvd. When police arrived, Alvarado ran from officers, prompting a brief foot chase near downtown Topeka.

Arrest & Charges
Officers quickly caught up to Alvarado and took him into custody without further incident. He was booked into the Shawnee County Jail on charges of:

Theft under $1,500 – shoplifting

Interference with a law enforcement officer
