Tony Callands, Two Others Arrested in Waterbury Drug Bust

WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) – A routine traffic stop in Waterbury on Monday night led to the arrest of three Connecticut residents on multiple drug-related charges, police said.

Around 10:34 p.m., officers patrolling Sperry Street and West Main Street stopped a vehicle for multiple violations. During the investigation, authorities discovered 35.1 grams of crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency, leading to the arrest of the vehicle’s occupants.

The suspects and their charges include:

Tony Callands, 40, of Waterbury:

Interfering with an officer
Operating a drug factory
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Mia Espinosa, 19, of New Britain:

Interfering with an officer
Operating a drug factory
Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Maria Viveros-Ferrer, 24, of Plainville:

Operating a drug factory
Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Operating a motor vehicle without insurance
The suspects were taken into custody as police continue their investigation into the narcotics operation.
