Toledo Man Arrested in Erie County for Burglary and Theft

ERIE COUNTY, OHIO — A Toledo man, Aaron Short, was arrested for allegedly committing burglary and theft at a residence in Erie County where he had been working.

According to the Perkins Township Police Department (PTPD), Short, 29, was employed by a company contracted to install flooring at the home. While working on the job, Short allegedly used the opportunity to access other areas of the house and steal items while the homeowner was absent.

“Short used his opportunity inside the residence to access other areas and steal while the homeowner was not present,” stated the PTPD in a Facebook post.

Short is currently being held at the Erie County Jail on multiple charges. It is unclear when the alleged theft occurred or the name of the company that employed him.

PTPD also noted an increase in similar thefts and warned homeowners to be cautious when allowing contractors into their homes.
