POLK COUNTY, FL – A Polk City woman was arrested on Saturday, March 8, after allegedly attempting to steal over $400 worth of merchandise from a Walmart in Mulberry and providing a false identity to law enforcement.
Attempted Theft and False Identification
Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walmart on Mulberry around 2:30 p.m. after store security detained a shoplifting suspect.
Upon arrival, deputies questioned the woman, who initially provided a false name and date of birth. However, law enforcement quickly identified her as 54-year-old Tobi Willis of Polk City.
According to authorities, Willis concealed items in a bag and wore stolen clothing underneath her own before attempting to leave the store.
Charges and Arrest
Willis was taken into custody and transported to the Polk County Jail. She faces charges of:

Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement
