The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Trinamool Congress leader Anisur Rehman from Deganga in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district due to his alleged involvement in a multi-crore ration distribution scam. The arrest occurred after nearly 14 hours of questioning at the ED’s Kolkata office on Thursday night.
Anisur Rehman, who serves as the Deganga block president for the TMC, was apprehended alongside his elder brother. The investigation focuses on their connections to the fraudulent distribution of ration supplies, part of a broader probe into irregularities in welfare programs in the region.
