MILLSBORO, Del. — Two men, Tizonn Trotter, 18, from Elkton, and Jyair Freeman, 18, from Smyrna, Del., were arrested by Delaware State Police in connection with an alleged robbery. The pair faces multiple charges, including first-degree felony robbery and second-degree conspiracy.

According to Delaware State Police, a 15-year-old victim arranged a sale of sweatshirts through social media, believing he would be meeting a cousin. When the suspects arrived at his home in Millsboro, the victim got into a green Kia Soul expecting to complete the transaction. However, one of the suspects — later identified as Freeman — reportedly pointed a handgun at the victim and struck him in the head.

Despite the assault, the victim managed to escape with only minor injuries and called 911. The victim’s description of the suspects and the vehicle led authorities to a Shell gas station on John Williams Highway, where Trotter and Freeman were arrested.

A search of the vehicle revealed a 9mm handgun and the stolen sweatshirts. Both men are currently held at the Sussex Correctional Institution. Trotter’s bond is set at $21,000, while Freeman faces a higher bond of $44,000. Freeman also faces additional charges, including possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of an untraceable firearm, and third-degree assault.
