The Hyderabad cybercrime police have arrested 38-year-old Neshnor Sirish Kumar from Tirupati for allegedly defrauding a resident of Lower Tank Bund out of Rs 60 lakh through a WhatsApp “review scam.” Authorities report that Kumar was involved in a widespread fraud operation, collaborating with Chinese nationals to deceive victims across India.
Investigations reveal that Kumar facilitated the scam by arranging bank accounts for the Chinese nationals involved. He even traveled to China to meet with them in connection to the fraudulent activities. This case highlights the ongoing issues of cybercrime and international fraud schemes targeting unsuspecting individuals.
