Amy Dianne Elmore Downs, a 57-year-old TikTok personality from Athens known by the names Slot_7.0 and Slotmachinequeen, was arrested on Wednesday for seven counts of Charitable Fraud 1st Degree and three counts of Tax Evasion, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began in October following reports of suspected charity fraud. Between 2021 and 2024, Downs allegedly solicited donations for a fake charity intended to support domestic violence victims and homeless individuals. She requested that her followers send money to her personal PayPal, CashApp, and Venmo accounts, claiming the donations would benefit the charitable cause. Over the years, Downs received significant contributions from individuals both in the U.S. and abroad.
However, during the investigation, it was uncovered that no legitimate charity existed under Downs’ name. Further research revealed that no charity had been registered with the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, and Downs had not reported any employment since 2020. From 2021, Downs allegedly deposited nearly one million dollars into her personal bank accounts, all while posing as a charitable organization.
The findings led to probable cause for Downs’ arrest, and her bond was set at $1,125,000. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
In late September, the TikTok account trey-street hosted a call with several individuals who claimed to have been scammed by Downs. The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone with additional information regarding potential fraudulent activity involving Downs to email them, providing a full name, phone number, and a brief summary of their concerns.
