Three Teens Arrested in Lincoln for Attempted Robbery with Replica Gun

LINCOLN, Neb. — Three teenagers face charges following an attempted robbery Saturday in northeast Lincoln. The incident occurred near 63rd Street and McCormick Drive, where a victim reported that two young men asked if he had any money. One of the suspects lifted his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a handgun, though no items were taken during the encounter.

A state trooper later stopped a vehicle near 84th Street and Cornhusker Highway, where the suspects matched the description from the robbery attempt. Authorities determined that the weapon involved was a replica BB gun.

The suspects, identified as 18-year-old Haider Al-Waely, 19-year-old Yousef Sabah, and 19-year-old Ayman Malaka, were arrested in connection with the attempted robbery. Al-Waely and Sabah were charged with attempted robbery and terroristic threats, while Malaka was charged with aiding and abetting attempted robbery.
