Three Milwaukee Men Charged in Retail Theft and Police Chase

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – On December 28, three Milwaukee men were criminally charged after a retail theft and subsequent police chase. Prosecutors have filed charges against Trayvon Borden (28), William Jones (32), and John Farmer (62).

John Farmer faces charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, attempting to flee from police in a vehicle, and misdemeanor retail theft. Trayvon Borden is charged with retail theft and bail jumping, while William Jones is charged with misdemeanor retail theft. A warrant for Jones’ arrest has been issued.

The incident began around 8:52 p.m. when police were called to a Kohl’s store in West Allis after two suspects were observed concealing merchandise. As they exited the store, they entered a maroon sedan and drove off, with officers soon in pursuit. The sedan accelerated up to 95 mph as it evaded officers, eventually losing control and swerving around another vehicle at the intersection of 124th and Cleveland.

The vehicle continued fleeing westbound until a PIT maneuver was executed after a high-speed chase. The suspects then fled on foot, but police apprehended them shortly after.

The driver of the sedan was identified as John Farmer, who did not enter Kohl’s. Trayvon Borden and William Jones were the suspects who had stolen merchandise, valued at $444.77, from the store. A search of the vehicle confirmed the stolen items were inside.

Borden, who was on bond for a previous theft charge, faces additional legal consequences. Both Borden and Jones also have out-of-state warrants, with Borden wanted in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, and Jones wanted by US Marshals in Minnesota.

John Farmer and Trayvon Borden made initial court appearances on January 2, with hearings scheduled for January 8.
