Three men have been indicted in connection to a homicide that occurred in September 2024.
Kenneth Davon Jones, 28, has been charged with capital murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. Jalen Young and David Hall, both 27, face charges of accessory after the fact and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Prosecutors allege that Jones fatally shot Elias Trudell during a robbery attempt, before setting fire to Trudell’s vehicle. The burned vehicle was later discovered near the entrance of Luxapalila Creek Park.
Investigators with Lowndes County believe Trudell and his companion, Malachi Salus, traveled from Colorado Springs to Columbus with the intention of selling drugs. However, it is suspected that both sides decided to double-cross one another during the exchange.
Initially, seven people were charged in the case. A trial date for the men has not been set, and more details will be released as the investigation progresses.
