An Excise team arrested three men with 119g of MDMA worth approximately Rs 15 lakh from a Volvo bus traveling from Bengaluru at the Amaravila check-post on Tuesday night. The arrested individuals have been identified as Adithyan (29) from Aryanad, Saju Saiju (22) from Karipur, and Devan (21) from Poovachal.
The officers grew suspicious when the accused acted strangely during the vehicle inspection. Upon further examination, the drug, which was concealed inside a polythene cover, was seized from a bag one of the suspects was carrying.
The accused have been remanded after being produced before a court and are facing charges under Section 22, 22(c), and 20(b)(ii) A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The investigation is ongoing.
