A joint operation by Nawabganj Police and the ANTF (Barabanki unit) led to the arrest of three drug peddlers on Friday. The trio, Prabhakar Upadhaya (36), Manish Kumar Mishra alias Pintu (42), and Satyadev Mishra alias Pintoo (47), were caught near the Jhokri area while planning to deliver large consignments of illegal drugs.
The police seized 103 kg of ganja, 250 kg of bhang, and two luxury four-wheelers used by the suspects for smuggling. The arrested men, residents of Nawabganj and Holagarh, were active members of an inter-district drug smuggling gang. The authorities revealed that Manish Mishra and Satyadev Mishra both had criminal records.
The successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the illegal drug trade in the region. Further investigations are underway to track other members of the gang and dismantle their operations.
