In a significant drug bust, the Madhapur Special Operations Team (SOT), in collaboration with the Raidurgam police, arrested three drug peddlers for allegedly supplying 620 grams of heroin paste, valued at Rs 4.65 crore. In addition to the trio, five consumers, to whom the narcotic was supplied, were also apprehended.
The accused have been identified as Mangalaram, Dinesh Chowdhary, and Ganesh Chowdhary, all from Rajasthan, but currently residing in Hyderabad. The main supplier, Savar Jhat, also from Rajasthan, is reported to be absconding.
Police revealed that the arrested peddlers had placed an order for heroin paste worth Rs 48,000 from Savar Jhat, who transported the narcotics to Hyderabad in a car. The trio then hired two individuals, Suresh and Ramesh Chandu, both from Pali district in Rajasthan, to deliver the drugs to consumers. They paid the transporters Rs 7,000 each for their services.
The drugs were hidden at a store in Gachibowli, where the peddlers met with Suresh and Ramesh to finalize the selling procedure. Acting on a tip-off, the SOT and law enforcement teams intercepted the suspects and seized the contraband. Further investigations are underway, with authorities seeking the main supplier, Savar Jhat.
