Three Arrested with 59g MDMA in Thiruvananthapuram During Joint Police Raid

In a successful operation by Thiruvananthapuram rural police, three individuals were arrested for possession of 59g of MDMA during a joint vehicle inspection conducted by the rural Dansaf team and Mangalapuram police at Murukkumpuzha on Saturday. The arrests were made after a tip-off from Kiran Narayanan, the Thiruvananthapuram rural police chief, who had placed the suspects under surveillance following suspicions of their involvement in drug trafficking.

The arrested men—identified as Praveen, 36, alias Padakku Sudhi, of Thekkevila Veedu in Sarkara; Shibu, 26, of Vilayil Veedu in Perunguzhi; and Gireesh, 27, of Mahesh Bhavan in Neerazhikonam—were reportedly planning a trip to Bengaluru to purchase the drugs. However, they were apprehended by the police team as they were returning.

The three men have been remanded for 14 days judicial custody and are facing charges under Section 22(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the drug trafficking network.
