The accused were identified as Manjunath Chidanandappa Narathali (24) from Gajendragad, Koppal district, Prasad (22), and Kishan (20), both from Hattiyangadi, Udupi district.

The thefts occurred on October 31, when the suspects broke into two businesses—the Bake Lane Bakery in Shivalli village and the Adishakti General Stores in Ishwar Nagar, Udupi Taluk. They were apprehended on Wednesday near Shimbra Bridge in Manipal.

During the investigation, the police also seized a vehicle used in the crime, estimated to be worth Rs5 lakh. The accused were subsequently remanded in judicial custody.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover any further details about the suspects’ involvement in other crimes.
