In a significant development, three individuals were arrested for impersonating Jay Shah, the son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a fake call scam targeting MLAs in Manipur. The accused were brought to Imphal, the capital of Manipur, from Delhi this morning.

According to sources, the scamsters made calls to several political leaders in Manipur, including assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, demanding a large sum of Rs 4 crore in exchange for securing ministerial posts. These calls were made during the first two weeks of February.

In a related incident, a 19-year-old man was also arrested for impersonating Jay Shah and attempting to extort Rs 5 lakh from Uttarakhand BJP MLA Adesh Chauhan.
