In a major operation by Dispur Police, three drug peddlers were arrested after a successful chase from Dakhingaon to Khanka Road. The arrested individuals were identified as Samad Ali, Musful Begum, and Salma Sultana. Police seized 11 vials of heroin, weighing 14.67 grams, along with an Alto K-10 car (AS01SC3931), an NS-16 bike, two mobile handsets, and Rs 1,100 in cash. Legal action has been initiated against the suspects.
In another related incident, a team from Panbazaar PS and Fancy Bazaar OP carried out a raid at 3 No Railway Gate, Ushamati, Fancy Bazaar, and arrested Amir Hamja, a 30-year-old resident of Barpeta. Police confiscated five vials of heroin, weighing 6.60 grams, from Hamja’s possession. Further legal steps are being taken in both cases.
The police are continuing their investigation and working to identify potential links in the local drug network.
