Three Arrested for 15 Vehicle Break-ins and Theft in Nash County

NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) — Authorities in Nash County have arrested three men after linking them to 15 vehicle break-ins, with five of them involving theft. Deputies from the Nash County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins across the county on Thursday.

Following the reports, deputies gathered crucial evidence and information, which led to identifying a vehicle of interest. The North Carolina Highway Patrol was notified of the potential suspects and the vehicle description. Later that day, the Highway Patrol spotted the vehicle near Sunset Avenue and Halifax Road, pulling it over for further investigation.

The three suspects in the vehicle were identified as Rashad Moore, Khalil Sanders, and Kamari Taylor, all from Rocky Mount. A search of the vehicle revealed several stolen firearms, including one that had been reported stolen earlier that day, along with other stolen items.

Moore and Taylor were charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, ten counts of breaking or entering into a motor vehicle, five counts of breaking or entering into a motor vehicle with theft, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Sanders was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer, in addition to the same charges as Moore and Taylor.

All three suspects were taken to the Nash County Jail, where they are being held on a $50,000 secured bond.
