Third Suspect Arrested in 2024 Lubbock Armed Robbery

LUBBOCK, Texas – Authorities have arrested Mia Aracely Duarte, 24, in connection with a violent home invasion that occurred on June 15, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Duarte was taken into custody on Thursday and remains jailed on $100,000 bond at the Lubbock County Detention Center.

Home Invasion Details
According to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a robbery report at a trailer home on 114th Street. The victims were asleep when Duarte and two accomplices—Rickay Jewel Smith, 30, and Romeo Thomas, 37—broke in through the back door.

The victims awoke to a gun pointed at them as the suspects ransacked the bedroom before continuing through the home, stealing valuables. Before leaving, Thomas smashed a victim’s phone to prevent her from calling for help. The suspects also threatened to return.

Stolen Items
The suspects allegedly stole:

$4,000 worth of tools

A laptop, printer, and phone

A wallet

A birth certificate and ID copy

Arrests and Charges
Authorities arrested Smith and Thomas in 2024, and both remain jailed. Duarte, who had evaded arrest, was finally taken into custody Thursday.

Duarte faces charges of Aggravated Robbery and Burglary of a Habitation. She remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
