Third Arrest Made in Brandon Holland Murder Case in Franklin County

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. — A third person has been arrested in connection with the tragic murder of 30-year-old Brandon Holland, who was shot and killed in Franklin County, Virginia, in December 2024.

On February 3, 2025, authorities arrested 58-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Overstreet of Callaway, Virginia, after a grand jury indictment. Overstreet now faces several serious charges related to the killing, including:

One felony count of 1st Degree Murder – Conspiracy to Commit
One felony count of Non-Capital 1st Degree Murder
One felony count of Firearm Use in Commission of a Felony
One felony count of Maliciously Discharging Firearm in an Occupied Dwelling
The indictment stems from the early hours of December 7, 2024, when Brandon Holland was shot and killed. Overstreet was arrested and is currently being held without bond.

The investigation into the murder has led to the previous arrests of two other individuals involved in the case. On the same day as the shooting, Antonio Maurice Payne, 37, from Lebanon, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Later, Jamarion Nazier Dunnings, 18, was arrested on December 18, 2024, and charged with non-capital second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

While authorities have yet to release specific details regarding the suspects’ roles or the motive behind the killing, the investigation remains ongoing. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with additional information about the case to come forward.
