Theodore Tobias and Portia Bick Arrested After Police Chase in Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, CT – Officers responded to a report of a suspicious man and woman in a white pickup truck outside Lowe’s in Bloomfield on Wednesday. The suspects were identified as Theodore Tobias, 53, and Portia Bick, 34. Both were previously connected to larcenies in both Newington and Bloomfield.

As police approached the truck, the suspects fled the scene, leading officers on a pursuit through the streets of Hartford. The chase ended when the truck crashed into a light post at the intersection of Route 44 and Irving Street, causing significant damage.

The impact caused the truck to roll backward, colliding with a police cruiser. Both Tobias and Bick were arrested at the scene.

The suspects face charges related to theft and the events surrounding the police pursuit. Authorities are continuing their investigation into their involvement in recent thefts in the area.
