The Tezpur police have arrested Hemen Rabha, accused of embezzling millions through the online brokering platform Gini Capital on September 3. Gini Capital operates an office in Noonmati, Guwahati, along with two additional locations in Murhateteli and Ghoramari, Tezpur.
Rabha is charged with siphoning significant amounts of money from numerous individuals, including employees of Gini Capital. The Officer In-charge of Tezpur police station stated, “We received information about Hemen Rabha, whose online brokering facility sought money from individuals by promising high returns. The accused had been absconding after shutting down his office, but our team managed to apprehend him on Tuesday night.”
The investigation is ongoing, focusing on the total amount of money involved in this online brokering scam. Police are also working to validate the evidence collected from the victims of this fraud.
