Tequila Locklear, 20, Charged With Murder in Hit-and-Run Death

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) — A Rowland woman is facing a first-degree murder charge after allegedly striking and killing her boyfriend with a car early Saturday morning in Robeson County.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Tequila Locklear in connection with the death of 23-year-old Brian Hammonds.

At approximately 5:23 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a possible car theft and assault on the 300 block of Chicken Road in Lumberton. Upon arrival, they found Hammonds dead near the vehicle.

Investigators later determined the car was not stolen and that Hammonds was intentionally struck.
