Tejaji Nagar Police Busts Interstate Theft Gang, Arrests Three

Tejaji Nagar police successfully dismantled an interstate gang of thieves and arrested three of its members from the Bagh Tanda area in Dhar district, recovering stolen goods worth Rs 1.21 crore. According to police officials, the accused allegedly confessed to stealing valuable items and cash from various locations in the city.

IPS Karandeep Singh briefed the media, stating that, acting on the instructions of DCP (zone-1) Vinod Kumar Meena and Additional DCP Alok Sharma, two individuals, Vell Singh and his accomplice Karam Singh, both residents of Guradiya village in Tanda district, were arrested in connection with a recent theft in the area.

While in police remand, the accused provided information about their accomplice, Rajesh, and revealed that they had sold the stolen goods to three other individuals—Vikas alias Sonu, Ashok Manjhi, and Thakur Singh—all residents of Tanda. Based on this information, a police team conducted raids across seven locations and successfully apprehended the three suspects: Thakur, Vikas, and Ashok.

The accused further admitted to assisting in various thefts across the city and purchasing the stolen goods from the primary thieves. Acting on their confessions, the police recovered approximately 1.5 kilograms of gold ornaments, 500 grams of silver ornaments, Rs 3 lakh in cash, and a vehicle worth Rs 18 lakh from the suspects.

The four-wheeler, along with the stolen valuables, was seized, and further investigation is ongoing.
