Teenagers Charged with Murder in Stabbing Death of Wyatt Reeb

Scottsbluff, NE — Devante Castellaw, 17, and Corey Rotherham Jr., 16, were arraigned on January 24, 2025, in Scotts Bluff County Court on charges of second-degree murder and the use of a deadly weapon in connection with the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Wyatt Reeb.

The two teens, who are each being held on a $1 million bond, were allegedly involved in chasing and assaulting Reeb, as captured by surveillance footage. Reeb’s stepmother found him collapsed near Gary’s Auto Repair, bleeding heavily from a stab wound to his back and struggling to breathe. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

Reeb was rushed to Regional West Medical Center and later transferred to a hospital in Denver but died from a stab wound to his heart.

Castellaw is scheduled for a district court arraignment on January 31, while Rotherham’s case was continued, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for February 5. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
