Teen Arrested in Walmart Shooting Death of Brandy Olson

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTV) – A teenager has been arrested and another is still on the run following the tragic shooting death of 42-year-old Brandy Nicole Olson at a Walmart in Lumberton, North Carolina, on Dec. 20.

The shooting took place around 7 p.m. at the Walmart located just off I-95 on Fayetteville Road. When officers arrived at the scene, Olson was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, she later died from her injuries. No one else was hurt in the incident.

According to Lumberton police, Olson was not the intended target of the shooting. Investigators believe the shooters were aiming at two individuals they knew, who were also in line at the store. The suspects quickly fled the scene after the shooting.

The suspects were later identified as 18-year-old Brian Campbell and 17-year-old Ezekiel Burden. Campbell turned himself in to authorities on Dec. 23 and has been charged with accessory after the fact in connection with Olson’s murder. He remains in custody with a $1 million bond.

As of Dec. 26, Burden has not been arrested, and police are actively searching for him. He faces charges of first-degree murder and weapons offenses.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, along with state agencies, is assisting in the investigation.
