ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) – Hillary Danielle Williams, a 33-year-old teacher at Wells ISD, and Michael Scott McCary, 37, have been arrested on charges related to the possession of child pornography. Williams is also facing a bestiality charge in connection with the investigation.
Authorities were called early Saturday morning after a suicidal man was reported in an argument with a woman. During the investigation, the subject of pornographic images involving a child and a dog was brought up. Law enforcement officers received consent to search McCary’s phone, which led to the discovery of evidence related to the charges.
The affidavit obtained by KLTV states that the man and woman had been using cocaine, which they reported may have influenced their choices. Sheriff Tom Selman confirmed that Williams is employed as a teacher at Wells ISD, which is located in Lufkin, Texas. Superintendent Jimmy Friday Wright later commented that the school district is aware of the arrest but has found no indication that any of their students were involved. The situation remains under investigation.
Both Williams and McCary were arrested and booked into the Angelina County Jail. Williams faces charges of possession with the intent to promote child pornography and bestiality, while McCary is charged with possession of child pornography. Williams was released after posting a $350,000 bond, while McCary remains in custody with a $250,000 bond.
