SAGINAW, Mich. — A 25-year-old man from Saginaw has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
Tarea Holmes entered a guilty plea following a federal investigation that culminated in a search of his residence last March. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, special agents recovered 378 grams of methamphetamine, 52 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of oxycodone pills, and more than $1,000 in cash from Holmes’ home.
Authorities say the volume and type of narcotics seized pointed to a significant trafficking operation, with potentially deadly consequences due to the presence of fentanyl.
Holmes’ sentence reflects the severity of drug-related crimes and aims to deter future trafficking in the region.
